Hugh Jackman has won the heart of Girls actor Andrew Rannells.
The 35-year-old TV star plays Elijah on Lena Dunham’s hit show.
An upcoming episode sees Elijah snag a boyfriend, and when asked by E! News who he’d like to play that role, Andrew admitted he didn’t have to give it much thought.
“Always and forever it will be Hugh Jackman,” he told the outlet at the Television Academy’s recent Girls panel.
Hugh had not replied to Andrew’s flattery at press time, but the married Wolverine star has a string of projects already lined up through next year, including the release of his next film, X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Andrew meanwhile is gearing up for what sounds like a saucy season of Girls.
“I volunteered myself for nakedness,” Andrew shared. “I feel like with [HBO show] Looking on the air, I gotta represent some gay sex on the show. I’m willing.”
E! reports the actor is riding high after his one episode in Girls’ third season spiraled into more than expected.
It came as welcome news after Andrew’s NBC comedy The New Normal got the ax.
“Lena Dunham and [executive producer] Jenni Konner called within 45 minutes of that show being canceled and said, ‘Just come back. Just come back to us. You always have a place here at Girls,’” he told New York magazine last month.
“And I felt so taken care of and protected by them, and very, very lucky to be a part of the show again. So they sort of adjusted some things and shoved me back in the show.”
