Hugh Jackman says he is “so grateful” to his wife for making him get checked for cancer.
The actor announced on Thursday that he was treated for basal cell carcinoma on his nose.
He is thankful wife Deborra-Lee Furness told him to have the suspicious-looking mark on his nose checked, as she turned out to be right.
“So grateful for all YOUR love & support. Thanks to Dr Albom, @DrLisaAiran, @trevormbornmd & most importantly Deb, for making me get checked,” Hugh tweeted.
The Wolverine star posted an Instagram picture of himself on Thursday, wearing a plaster on his nose. Hugh took the opportunity to warn other people to always get themselves checked.
“Deb said to get the mark on my nose checked. Boy she was right!” Hugh said. “Please don’t be foolish like me. Get yourself checked! And USE sunscreen!!!”
This isn’t the first time Hugh has openly gushed about how much his wife means to him. According to the 44-year-old, he reminds Deborra-Lee every day that he loves her.
“I’d say 80 percent of marriage is choosing the right person and, with Deb, I just knew,” Hugh previously told People.
“We were really close friends before we got together. But in any marriage there must be some sacrifices. No marriage survives if both people are selfish. Obviously, there has to be a great attraction and love. I ring Deb about ten times a day.”
