Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson were “nervous” about working with new people for The Hunger Games sequel.
The pair have reprised their roles as teenage warriors for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Some new faces were added to the cast and Josh feared the dynamics may change on set.
“Jennifer [Lawrence] and I were nervous about our new co-stars because we’re kind of crazy when we’re together, so it can be a little scary for the new people,” he told the latest edition of UK magazine Glamour. “But everybody jumped right in. It was a fun vibe on set. There are times when we’ve had to cut because we can’t get through a take without laughing.”
Josh has a close connection to his character Peeta. He shares many of Peeta’s calming qualities and admits he is very different to Jennifer’s feisty Katniss.
“Katniss is an ‘I’ll just shoot somebody with an arrow’ person, and Peeta is a ‘Let’s talk this through’ kind of guy. I have his mindset,” he shared.
The 21-year-old star was also quizzed on his love life. Josh is currently in a relationship with actress Claudia Traisac, who he met on the set of Paradise Lost. He believes it’s natural to fall for someone who understands your career demands.
“As far as I’m concerned, you’re both actors, you understand each other’s lifestyle, so it’s a very natural thing to have happen,” Josh added.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is released worldwide next month. The sequel sees Katniss and Peeta are targeted by the Capitol following their victory in the 74th Hunger Games.
