Jon Hamm loves his facial hair too much to shave for the Emmy Awards.
The 42-year-old Mad Men actor is nominated for an Outstanding Lead Actor trophy at Sunday’s high-profile ceremony.
Jon has grown a mighty beard over the past few months and he admits he is “probably not” going to trim it up for the red carpet event.
“I love not shaving,” he told E! Online.
“This ends up happening… I was in England and was working on a project and had been away for four months and I finally got home and I was like, I think I’m done with shaving for a little while.
“That was three days ago and then this happens.”
Jon’s long-time partner, actress-and-director Jennifer Westfeldt, will be his date for the evening.
The stars aren’t getting stressed out about the special occasion and will go about their day normally.
“It’s fairly relaxed,” Jon explained. “We walk the dog, get something to eat and put on fancy clothes.”
Jon has been nominated for an Emmy eight times and he is planning on celebrating his latest acknowledgement with a little bit of bubbly.
“We always do a little champagne toast,” Jennifer revealed, with Jon adding, “It’s fun to have a little in you before you go out.”
Neil Patrick Harris will host the 65th Primetime Emmy Awards, which will be held on Sunday at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.
