Gwyneth Paltrow has allegedly been leaning on Brad Pitt as she comes to terms with the end of her marriage.
The Oscar winning actress split with husband Chris Martin last month after ten years of marriage, and she has since found herself at the centre of intense media scrutiny.
While reports of affairs continue to surface, 41-year-old Gwyneth has turned to Brad for support. The pair dated for three years in the ’90s and were even engaged at one point, after first meeting on the set of the movie Se7en.
“There’s a real affection between them. I think she’s been using him as a shoulder to cry on – especially as he has experience of a high-profile divorce from Jennifer Aniston so he knows what life’s like for her right now,” a source divulged to British magazine Now.
Gwyneth and Chris, who have children Apple and Moses together, announced their split on the actress’s lifestyle website Goop, calling it a “conscious uncoupling”.
Sources say that Brad’s fiancée Angelina Jolie isn’t entirely comfortable with the support he’s been showing his ex, but Brad has reportedly been open and honest about what he’s up to.
“He tried to explain the situation to Angie and understood why she might be upset, but insisted there was nothing going on between him and Gwyneth. After all, Angie doesn’t seem to think it’s a big deal that Brad checks in with Jen Aniston from time to time,” the insider added.
“Brad and Angie are open with each other and she wasn’t happy when she found he’s been talking to Gwyneth so much.”
