Gosling: Internet is a minefield

Ryan Gosling

Ryan Gosling will never be caught Googling himself.

The Place Beyond the Pines star is a favorite with magazines and tabloids around the world.

But the 33-year-old avoids looking at gossip about himself at all costs.

“I don’t read what people said of me on the internet,” he revealed to Spanish newspaper, La Vanguardia. “The internet is like a minefield to me. I just simply don’t enter there.”

Canadian born Ryan started out on the Disney Channel’s Mickey Mouse Club when he was 12.

As an adult he has gone on to star in major Hollywood films including The Notebook, Crazy, Stupid, Love. and Gangster Squad.

Ryan admits his success has taken him by surprise.

“I never thought about being a film star,” he told the newspaper. “But I came further than I ever thought. I have done incredibly well.”

During his career Ryan has been nominated for Golden Globes, SAG Awards and Academy Awards.

The star puts his success down to having the same team around him since he was a teenager.

“I have had the same manager from the age of 14 and the same agent since I was 16. Now I can repeat and work again with the directors I like,” he said.

While his career is going from strength to strength, the same cannot be said for his personal life.

Ryan has dated actress Eva Mendes since September 2011 but in December last year it was rumored that the couple had parted ways.

“There was a realization before Thanksgiving that they took things way too fast and were rushing toward a marriage that neither of them particularly needed,” a source told RadarOnline at the time.

“They’ve decided to take a break to re-evaluate their romance.”
