Zach Galifianakis has skipped his latest film premiere because his wife was on the verge of giving birth.
The 43-year-old star’s spouse is Quinn Lundberg and the couple has kept her pregnancy so much of a secret that his manager didn’t even know about their family plans.
As a result Zach missed the You Are Here screening at the Toronto Film Festival on Saturday so not to risk his partner being alone.
“We literally found out on Friday,” Matthew Weiner told E! news. “Zach is going to be the best dad in the world.
“[Zach] missed the premiere because his wife is very pregnant and about to give birth and he did not want to take the chance of not being in LA if she went into labor.”
The duo got hitched in August 2012 in a private British Columbia ceremony, according to VancityBuzz.com.
It wouldn’t be the first time Zach cancelled an appointment due to personal reasons this year.
He reportedly avoided a press appearance as he was too afraid to scale a mountain.
The American comedian stars as Alan in The Hangover movie franchise and had been promoting the third flick in May.
One of the interviews called on him to appear on a peak, not far from the infamous Sugarloaf Mountain in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
“The only way to get up there was by cable car,” an insider told New York Post. “Zach was too afraid to ride up.”
A Warner Bros. representative explained that he is afraid of heights, and called into the press conference to let participants know.
The Hangover III also stars Bradley Cooper and Ed Helms, who were on hand to cover for Zach.
