Found Footage of the 1919 “Black Sox” World Series

This footage of the 1919 world series best known as “Black Sox” world series was found under a Canadian swimming pool and has been in store for years. The footage was shoot by British newsreel company Pathe News. The series featured the NL Champ Cincinnati Reds vs the AL Champ Chicago White Sox. The Series was a best of 9 games won by the Reds, but many speculate the series was thrown by the White Sox players to pay off gambling debt.
