Elle Fanning used to pretend she was homeless.
The 15-year-old actress is the cover star of the first ever edition of Miss Vogue Australia.
Elle is the younger sister of Twilight star Dakota Fanning and shared how involved they’ve been in each other’s acting careers from the start.
“I guess my mom saw us playing around the house and creating these really in-depth characters,” Elle explained. “My sister was older so she would always be the mom and I would be her kid. We would pretend we were homeless people and move around the house as though we were looking for shelter – we would always end up in the pantry. My parents would be like, ‘What are they doing in the pantry?’ and we’d be shivering, completely in character.”
Elle’s high profile movie roles have included a part in upcoming fairytale Maleficent alongside Angelina Jolie. Despite her fast-rising fame, Elle is concentrating on her high school studies.
“[My friends are] supportive. Like when Super 8 came out, they all went to see it and were making fun of me. So it’s cool to have fun with it, too. I was surprised – I was a freshie and you’re grouped with the seniors and you’re new, but it was great,” she continued.
“It’s just what I do, you know? Some kids go to soccer practice and play games after school. I just do movies.”
The blonde starlet has previously credited Dakota, 19, for inspiring her to pursue education alongside her budding movie career. Earlier this year, Elle told The Daily Beast that she wants to go to college as a result of her sibling’s influence.
“I don’t know where I want to go, but now that I’m a high-school freshman you hear about the juniors and seniors talking about where they’ve gotten in and wearing their school sweatshirts. I want to have a school sweatshirt that I wear!” she explained.
