Famke Janssen’s home was allegedly invaded by an eerie intruder over the weekend.
The X-Men actress, who plays Jean Grey in the Marvel movie franchise, resides in New York City’s lower Manhattan area.
According to the New York Daily News, Famke believes someone entered her house while she was away, as when she returned home she found an unsettling item in her bedroom.
“She claims somebody entered her apartment and placed a book called The Lonely Doll on a shelf beside her bed,” a police source told the outlet.
The Lonely Doll, which was published originally in 1957, is “a story about a doll and teddy bears who make a pact to stay together forever”.
Apparently Famke contacted authorities at around 8pm on Saturday and police arrived on the scene to investigate the incident.
It is claimed that officers didn’t discover any signs of forced entry, but Famke is adamant that she never saw the book before in her life. The actress also supposedly stated that she was the only other person who had access to her apartment.
Investigators have classified the disturbance as a burglary at this time and a formal inquiry is ongoing.
The Dutch actress is also famous for playing villainous Bond girl Xenia Onatopp in GoldenEye.
Famke previously revealed that although she looks tough onscreen, in real life she is the complete opposite of the heroines she plays in movies.
“I am nothing like the characters I play, but I know I look like I would be,” she told the New York Post previously.
