Everything You Need To Know About The Blink Light Festival Downtown

We got all the cool details about this weekends Blink Festival.

What you need to know:

All shows and exhibits begin at 7 p.m. Thursday and run until midnight. Food and beverages start being served at 6 p.m. Each night has the same displays. The parade is Thursday night.
There is also a Summerfair event at Piatt Park during BLINK:

Friday: 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Saturday: 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Sunday: 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Getting around should be easy. Officials with BLINK say there’s no specific starting point, but they recommend starting north or south and working your way in the opposite direction. The festival is designed along the streetcar route, but you could also walk from each exhibit.

Full day streetcar passes cost $2. This is expected to be a packed event, Uber and Lyft costs will likely be higher than normal.

Several roads will be closed throughout the weekend:

Event Parade:

Vine Street will be closed between McMicken Avenue and 13th Street from approximately 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday to accommodate parade participants. In addition, Elder, Green, 14th and 13th streets will be closed to through traffic between Race and Vine streets.

The Banks:

Freedom Way will be closed between Rosa Parks Street and Joe Nuxhall Way from 9 a.m. Thursday until 5 a.m. Sunday.

Through traffic will be allowed during the day via Marian Spencer Way.

Central Business District/Piatt Park:

Garfield Place will be closed eastbound and westbound between Vine and Elm streets from 5 a.m. Friday until 1 a.m. Monday.


Jackson Street will be closed between 12th and 13th streets from 9 a.m. Thursday until 5 a.m. Monday.

Pleasant Street will be closed from 14th Street north to Elder Street at Findlay Market from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. daily during the event.

Through traffic will be allowed on Liberty Street with lane restrictions depending on crowd size. Police will flag through the intersection.

Logan Street will be closed between Liberty and Elder from 9 a.m. Thursday until 5 a.m. Monday.
