Estelle: I’m no wedding singer

Estelle

Estelle is sick of being asked to sing at weddings.

The British vocalist is often requested to get on stage and belt out a number when she participates in friends’ nuptials.

However the 33-year-old star is quickly getting tired of being expected to use her talents when all she wants to do is enjoy time off work.

“I’m always in my friends’ weddings and they’re like, ‘Can you?’ I’m like, ‘No, I can’t!’” she told America’s OK! magazine about showing off her dulcet tones. “I always want to be in the moment and sometimes you have to step back and let them have their wedding.”

Estelle is even shy about gracing the stage when enjoying a night out with pals.

She insists that because she is so good on the vocal front, audiences think it’s unfair for her to do karaoke.

“I’m the worst! I don’t do it well,” she shared about the amateur activity. “Everyone expects you to sound bad and I get up there and they’re like, ‘B***h quit!’ So it’s hard for me.

“I would [do] a Queen song [though]. Probably Bohemian Rhapsody. I can’t hit his notes, it’s crazy the way he does,” she confessed about the late Freddie Mercury.

The American Boy hitmaker is planning on unleashing new music to fans soon, after 2012’s All of Me.

She has a short album coming out at the end of the month and an extended one next year.

“I’m working on EP number two for my EP series Love & Happiness,” she shared. “That’s coming out in about two weeks and then I have an album coming out early February. They have me in the studio.”
