Emmy Rossum is amazed at David Beckham’s “delicate” voice.
The Shameless star is one of the hottest actresses in Hollywood right now, meaning she frequently rubs shoulders with other A-listers.
Living near former soccer star David, his designer wife Victoria and their four kids is one of the many perks for Emmy.
“The Beckhams live at the bottom of my road. There are usually 35 paps waiting for [Victoria] at the bottom of the hill every day. If I drive my car down and she hasn’t come out yet they’ll follow me. Second best!” she laughed to UK magazine Company.
“[David] pulled up next to me once and asked if he could cut in front of me. He had such a sweet little voice and I was like, ‘Please!’ He’s very good-looking with this delicate voice. I was expecting something hunky and deep. I was expecting Clive Owen’s voice and then out came little David Beckham’s voice.
“I had a moment. I had a car beeping me from behind but I just had to stop and go, ‘That’s David Beckham, he’s sooo hot.'”
The 27-year-old plays Fiona Gallagher in Shameless, which follows the life of an alcoholic man and his children.
While there might be excessive drinking by their characters on screen, Emmy was brought up in a very different way.
“[My mum is] very old-fashioned about ethics and drugs and alcohol. Weirdly she is very progressive about boys. She never had a thing with me going out on dates, even at 15 or 16… I would say there was a lot of openness in the house – but no drugs, no alcohol,” she explained.
“To this day, I’ve never done a hard drug. I’ve never done cocaine, I’ve never done heroin, I’ve never done Ecstasy, which is literally everywhere. It just was never interesting to me. The feeling of being out of control or doing anything that could potentially harm me was just not my cup of tea. I would literally rather run down the street naked and I’ve done almost that.”
