Zac Efron’s mouth has been wired shut after he broke his jaw, according to reports.
The 26-year-old actor slipped in a puddle of water at the entrance of his Los Angeles home on Sunday, according to E! News.
The outlet reports Zac suffered a wound that also required stitches.
He is expected to make a full recovery, according to the website.
A spokesperson for the star has yet to issue comment.
Zac is next expected to star in forthcoming comedy That Awkward Moment.
The Tom Gormican-directed film, about a group of guys who make a pack to stay single, is scheduled for release in January, however, E! reports promotional appearances have been put on hold in the wake of Zac’s injury.
Miles Teller and Michael B. Jordan also feature in the film.
Zac is also expected to appear in Neighbors, opposite Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne.
The Nicholas Stoller film is scheduled for release next May.
According to IMDB.com, the actor will also appear in Eran Creevy action thriller Autobahn, currently in pre-production. It is not yet known how his condition will affect filming.
Zac has had a rough year. Various media reports have indicated the former High School Musical star sought professional help for substance abuse issues in March and again while shooting Neighbors.
Earlier reports suggested Zac had struggled with alcohol addiction while TMZ claimed he was battling a “serious” cocaine problem and had recently suffered a relapse.
Zac has not addressed the reports directly, but thanked his fans for their support in an Instagram post in September.
“Hey guys! Just returned from an incredible trip to Peru with my dad and wanted to thank you all for your support these past few weeks… means the world to me. Love you guys! – Z,” he wrote.
