Lena Dunham is happy to have a partner who shares her “upset”.
The 27-year-old Girls star has been dating Jack Antonoff, lead guitarist for band Fun, since 2012.
Her career exploded with success since their relationship began, and Lena feels privileged to have Jack by her side as she faces controversy related to celebrity.
“I remember talking with him on our first date and him being like, ‘God, all the articles about your nudity on the show are such bullsh*t.’ It’s funny, ’cause in some ways that’s the conversation we still have when I’m upset [about stuff I read],” she revealed during a cover interview for the April 2014 edition of America’s Glamour magazine.
Lena created Girls and she has also written and directed two films in the past, including her 2009 directorial debut Creative Nonfiction and 2010 feature Tiny Furniture.
The star confesses she pictures herself behind the camera more often than not in the future.
“I don’t know if I’m going to want to act anymore,” she shared.
“I’m always relieved on the days I don’t have to. I’d rather give parts to other women than be the woman having the parts.”
Aside from her TV duties, Lena has just finished writing her first published book Not That Kind of Girl, which is set for release in October.
The comedian is well known for her witty Twitter updates, and often allows her followers a sneak peek into what’s happening in her life.
And although she often professes her love for boyfriend Jack, during an unusually cold weather spell in New York City a couple weeks ago, she took to the micro-blogging site to express her befuddlement over her man’s decision to utilize air conditioning.
“Who, you ask, turns the AC on during a polar vortex? Sociopaths, fascist dictators, my boyfriend (sic),” she posted.
