Drew Barrymore says Will Kopelman’s speech on their wedding day made her proud.
The actress and Will tied the knot in June 2012, when she was six months pregnant. According to Drew, she was overcome with emotion when her new husband took the floor.
“Watching my husband give his speech to everyone was amazing. I was so in awe of his eloquence and articulation. I was super turned on, excited, proud. I had so many wonderful emotions!” she told E! News.
Drew has a new column in Brides magazine, and shares many other details of her special day. The 38-year-old revealed she and a close friend escaped the wedding for a while to eat tacos.
“My girlfriend and I ran into a room to quietly eat some tacos on the floor and I took my little shoes off and my little feet were so happy to be out of those heels for a minute,” she joked.
“To just take a deep breath and think about everything that I had just experienced. I knew I was going right back into it but that quiet moment.”
The actress believes all brides should have a moment to themselves during the night to reflect on what’s happening and rest a little.
According to Drew, it’s the best way to make sure you don’t miss a moment you might otherwise overlook.
“You’re not really able to reflect a lot in the middle of your wedding so if you can run somewhere and take just five seconds or five minutes and think about what you don’t want to miss for the rest of the night, it’s kind of a pleasurable thing instead of doing it the next day when you can’t access it anymore,” she added.
