Drew Barrymore: Stop stalking me

Drew Barrymore has confirmed her second pregnancy to stop herself being “stalked”.

Speculation that the 38-year-old star might be expecting again reached fever pitch yesterday, after she was spotted wearing a loose dress to an industry event.

She gave birth to her and her husband Will Kopelman’s daughter Olive in September last year and wants this pregnancy to be different.

“Last time I never commented on it and people just stalked me the entire time,” Drew told People magazine. “So yes, it’s happening, it’s true. I tried to keep it a secret for as long as possible.”

The actress has made no secret of her desire for a large family and discussed just that on a recent TV show appearance. Now it’s happening, she admits feeling a little overwhelmed.

“When I found out I was overjoyed. It always feels so surreal, it’s incredible,” she marveled. “[I’m feeling] incredible, that,’ Here we go again’ feeling. And blessed. Blessed!

“You’re so lucky to get to do it. It’s such a miracle. I just felt really lucky.”

After the news broke yesterday friends and family were quick to offer their congratulations to Will and Drew. Although they thought that was incredibly kind, it’s Olive they are most excited for.

“Will is just thrilled – we both are – [because] we just wanted so badly for Olive to have a sibling,” she explained. “In some ways, it’s really for her. So congratulations, Olive!”

After Olive’s birth Drew insisted she was in no hurry to slim down. She wants to be a positive role model for her daughter and explained she loves food too much to be skinny. It’s an attitude which is helpful during her second pregnancy, as she is craving all kinds of food already.

“Oh my God, I’m eating everything! I can’t get enough of Chinese food. It’s all I want to eat!” she laughed. “I’m feeling very, very happy. Happy and healthy – mentally and physically.”
