Casting directors for Don Cheadle’s “Miles Ahead” film, about jazz icon Miles Davis, need background “extras” and vehicles from the late 1940s through the mid-1970s.
Adults 21 and older who have reliable transportation may apply to be an extra, said Kristen Erwin Schlotman, executive director of the Greater Cincinnati & Northern Kentucky Film Commission.
Applicants must be “available June through August 15.” she said. Those interested should send a headshot photo, their full name, email address and phone number to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Director Cheadle (“Hotel Rwanda,” “House of Lies,” “Iron Man 2″ and “3″), who will star as Miles, also needs very specific automobiles for the movie, she said.
– A 1970s Jaguar XJS, preferably dark green.
– Taxis from the 1940s/’50s, and 1970s.
– A 1950s Cadillac convertible.
– Cars from 1965 through 1975.
Owners of cars fitting the descriptions should send a photo and contact information email@example.com.
More than a dozen late 1940s and early 1950s vehicles were used in the filming of Cate Blanchett’s “Carol” here in March and April.
“Miles Ahead,” about the life and music of Davis, also stars Ewan McGregor (“A Million Ways to Die in the West,” “Star Wars”) and Zoe Saldana (NBC’s “Rosemary’s Baby,” “Avatar”).
