Dianna Agron once shared an awkward embrace with Robert De Niro.
The Glee actress stars in new movie The Family alongside the iconic Hollywood actor.
Dianna hugged Robert for a bit too long during one scene and she cringes at the memory now.
“At one moment, we’re just embracing and it’s not ending – and I’m not minding – but at the same time, I’m like, ‘This is f**king crazy! I’m embracing Robert De Niro right now,” she laughed to the latest edition of NYLON Guys magazine. “I knew I wasn’t getting fired at that point – they had shot too much footage – and I went to dinner and sat with him and said, ‘What should I call you, by the way? What do you like to be called?’ He started laughing and said, ‘Whatever you want: Robert, Bob, Old Guy…'”
Dianna says her break into movies hasn’t come as a surprise. She’s always pined after a career in film, ever since she found fame as cheerleader Quinn Fabray on Glee.
“I remember when we first started doing Glee, journalists would ask me who my dream guest star was I would say Christopher Walken, and you could see their faces fall: ‘Just say Justin Timberlake!'” she recalled. “For me, that’s so not what I was made of, and Twitter and Tumblr were an easy way to showcase who I really was and what I liked.”
Over recent months Glee has been plagued by tragedy following the death of Cory Monteith, who starred as Finn Hudson.
Dianna’s character Quinn has had a smaller role in Glee since she graduated, but the star has many fond memories from her time on the show.
“It’s really bittersweet,” Dianna added, “because that’s been such a heavy part of my life for the last five years.”
