Jenna Dewan-Tatum and her husband Channing pencil in “good date nights” regularly.
The pair have been married since 2009 and they welcomed their first child, baby girl Everly, in May 2013.
And Jenna reveals the new parents have made it a priority to spend quality time together without their tot.
“We make sure we get good date nights,” Jenna told Us Weekly magazine.
“You’ve got to get out and be around adults, and not be speaking in a baby voice all day long – just for your own sanity!”
Jenna is amazed by how parenthood has strengthened her marriage.
She believes focusing on what’s best for Everly has inadvertently augmented the bond she shares with White House Down star Channing.
“As a whole, it just forces you to become a little closer, because you have to be on the same page with everything when it comes to making decisions,” the actress explained.
“It’s just like everything else. You give it like, ‘Okay, I have this luncheon today, so you watch Everly and I have this dinner.’ You just become way better at planning!”
In fact, Jenna is so enthusiastic about Everly’s presence she is considering having more children.
But the star acknowledges that family expansion must be worked around her and Channing’s busy schedules.
“I do want to have more kids if it’s in the cards for us,” Jenna said.
“But right now we’re trying to get into the groove and enjoy our little baby that we have now. We’ll see what the future has in store for us!”
