CZJ and Michael Douglas ‘face marital issues’

Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas are reportedly still facing “issues” in their marriage.

The couple had a brief split from their 13-year marriage last August, but are now thought to be giving things another go. Earlier this month they had their first red-carpet appearance together since the break.

Although they appeared to be happy in front of the camera, it is thought the pair are still struggling to make their relationship work. Catherine’s bipolar disorder, which she has previously been treated for in rehab, is believed to be making her more anxious.

“Issues between Michael and Catherine have already started resurfacing. Catherine knows she can be temperamental given her disorder, but she’s been working hard to get it under control. However, Michael sometimes feels he can do nothing right,” an insider told British magazine Closer.

“There’s no doubt they love each other and they have regular marriage counseling to help. But the cracks are already beginning to show again.”

Catherine and Michael have daughter Carys and son Dylan together. With their busy work schedules keeping the couple apart, the 44-year-old actress reportedly fears things won’t be the same again.

“Catherine worries she didn’t give herself enough time away from Michael to assess what she really wanted. They jumped back into things because they missed each other, but they’re beginning to worry it may have been a mistake,” the source added.

“Catherine doesn’t like it when Michael travels for work and leaves her alone in New York. He’s been away on set in New Mexico recently and he’ll be away again from June for a new film. Catherine is upset because she wanted them together for the summer. She still feels they are apart a lot, even though Michael has been making a real effort to spend more time as a couple.”
