The 51-year-old singer was engaged to the professional cyclist who was busted for a doping and in a new book about the conspiracy, the author claims Sheryl watched at least one incident take place in 2005.

“Rather than try to hide the transfusion from her, Armstrong was completely open about it,” the authors penned. “He trusted that Crow would have no desire to tell the press or anyone else about the team’s doping program. He explained that it was simply part of the sport – that all cyclists were doing the same thing.”

In the book due out next Tuesday from Wall Street Journal reporters Reed Albergotti and Vanessa O’Connell, they say the trip took place on his private jet to Belgium.

Lance, 42, parted ways with his wife, Kristin, when his relationship with Sheryl was made public. They were engaged at one point but they split up in 2006.

Sheryl spoke to investigators about Lance’s transfusions to allow the increase of oxygen-carrying red blood cells in turn his boosting endurance potential, in 2011 when an investigation was launched.
