Cranston going back to comedy

Bryan Cranston

Bryan Cranston is returning to How I Met Your Mother.

The award-winning actor is to reprise his role as Hammond Druthers on the TV show, following the end of his programme Breaking Bad. Hammond is the loathed former boss of Ted, played by Josh Radnor, who was later demoted.

Fans last saw Bryan in Hammond’s shoes for two episodes in 2007, the year before smash hit series Breaking Bad hit TV screens.

CBS broke the news on Twitter earlier today.

“CASTING NEWS! @BryanCranston returns to #HIMYM later this fall as Hammond Druthers! #BreakingMOTHER, (sic)” CBS Tweet wrote.

Bryan recently admitted that he took a few keep sakes from the Breaking Bad set to remind him of his time playing his character Walter White’s alter ego Heisenberg.

“I have Heisenberg’s hat and sunglasses. That’s my prized possession,” he confessed to Entertainment Weekly.

His co-stars took a little more than the veteran actor though.

Emmy Award-winner Aaron Paul revealed he wanted many keepsakes.

“I took [my character] Jesse Pinkman’s license plate from his first car: THE CAPN… I have a Heisenberg hat. [Series creator] Vince Gilligan has promised me the burnt pink teddy bear from season 2,” he explained.

Bryan is also staring in upcoming films Godzilla and Cold Comes the Night.
