Courteney Cox reportedly “can’t believe” how ecstatic she is with her love life.
The 50-year-old actress confirmed her engagement to Snow Patrol rocker Johnny McDaid last month by posting a photo on Twitter. “I’m engaged to him!” she wrote excitedly, while he replicated the message on his page posting: “I’m engaged to her!”
Johnny, 37, is thought to have popped the question during a romantic break to Amanyara beach resort in Turks and Caicos during celebrating Courteney’s milestone birthday. She is said to be over the moon, especially as he gets on well with her daughter Coco, who she has with ex-husband David Arquette.
“She says he’s taught Coco to play guitar and constantly dotes on her,” a source told British magazine Closer. “She wants a small wedding ceremony in Ireland, where Johnny’s from. She can’t believe how happy she is.”
Other reports have also speculated they could tie the knot in Courteney’s hometown of Birmingham, Alabama.
The couple were introduced last year by mutual friend Ed Sheeran and dated for seven months before Johnny got down on one knee.
The singer-songwriter previously shared his delight at his good pals striking up a romance and even hinted at marriage between them earlier this year.
“I wouldn’t be surprised, but it’s still early days,” he told UK newspaper The Mirror in response to whether he thinks the couple will tie the knot soon.
“They certainly enjoy each other’s company and feel very comfortable with each other… I’m not sure that it’s public knowledge, so maybe I shouldn’t have said anything – but, yes, they’re already living together,” Ed confirmed.
“Things are moving fast. He moved in and, judging by the last time I saw them, they couldn’t be happier.
“They get on really well and are genuinely good friends, pardon the pun.”
