George Clooney says Sandra Bullock calls him drunk “every night”.
The Hollywood actor, who shares the big screen with Sandra in new sci-fi drama Gravity, was asked to address recent comments she made about not being attracted to him.
Speaking backstage at the Britannia Awards, George laughed: “She may say that she’s not all that attracted to me, but she calls every night, three in the morning, drunk, ‘Hey, George, what are you doing?’
“[It's] non-stop. And then I just send her a bottle of tequila,” he joked.
Sandra was speaking on UK show Daybreak when she ignited a friendly war-of-words with longtime pal George.
The 49-year-old mused that the “sexy is gone” from her perception of the actor because they’ve known each other for so long.
“Not that he’s not sexy because he is very, very handsome. If you like that kind of dashing, charming, smart, talented, successful kind of thing. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea.”
George was honored with the Stanley Kubrick Britannia Award for Excellence in Film at Saturday’s Britannia Awards in Los Angeles.
Julia Roberts presented him with the honor.
“I gave her a little cash for that,” he later mused about her toast to his talent.
He previously mused that the former Pretty Woman star was riddled with a drinking problem as well.
The actor and his business partner Grant Heslov produced forthcoming dark comedy August:Osage County, starring Julia.
Speaking to Variety at a recent American Film Institute Festival screening of the film, George joked the actress’ boozy habits made her easygoing on set.
“As you well know, Julia is an alcoholic,” he laughed. “It was easier to work with her because you just offer her booze, apply that with anything.”
