Chris Hemsworth refuses to do full frontal nude scenes.
The 30-year-old actor stars opposite Daniel Brühl in forthcoming drama Rush, about a rivalry between two race car drivers in the 1970s.
The Ron Howard film sees Chris’ character, late Formula One racer James Hunt, strip down to reveal his backside in one racy scene. But the Thor star says that’s as much as audiences can ever expect to see.
“I had enough trouble and fear and anxiety getting the backside out let alone – no it won’t be out there,” he told MTV News.
Olivia Wilde, who plays the model wife of Chris’ character, said she’s glad she wasn’t in his position on set.
The actress said her co-star didn’t get any of the babying many female actresses often experience while undressing on set.
“With women taking off their clothes, everyone’s polite. It’s a closed set. Everyone’s like, ‘Are you okay?’ When he did it was like, ‘Chris, off!'” she laughed.
Chris didn’t seem to mind showing off his rear, however. The actor wrote off the requirement as one of the strange demands of his job.
“It wasn’t my idea. It was on the page,” he smiled.
“It’s an indication of who this guy was. He liked to get nude and sleep around. I was just playing the part, you know.”
Rush is scheduled to hit US cinemas September 27.
