Chris Hemsworth is to be a dad for the second time with wife Elsa Pataky.
The 30-year-old Thor star married Elsa in 2010 and the couple have 18-month-old daughter India together.
Chris’s rep confirmed the happy news to MailOnline, after Spanish magazine Hola broke the story.
Elsa, 37, is reportedly three months pregnant, with the new arrival due in spring 2014.
“Being a father is certainly a task. But the best one that I could ever ask for. Being home, being with the family, that’s what it’s about,” Chris previously told People magazine.
”It makes me much more relaxed with work. To be honest, because I have something that is far more important to me now — and that is the priority — I get to just enjoy the work for what it is.”
Chris also opened up on how hard it is to leave his family when he has a movie to shoot.
Currently starring in Thor: The Dark World, the Australian actor filmed most of the scenes on location in London.
”It makes it harder and harder to leave and go to work. I enjoy being at home a lot more than I ever have,” he told the magazine.
Chris’ spouse Elsa also feels the separation anxiety when her husband is out of town, but despite the travelling she believes he has been an excellent father.
“He’s the person I feel closest to and we understand each other very well. And then I see him as a great dad – it’s important to know if the person you’re with will be good at parenthood,” Elsa previously told Hello! Magazine.
