Cher is proud of her son’s “courage” towards losing weight.
The 67-year-old singer is mother to transgender son Chaz Bono, who recent dropped lots of excess body mass to get healthy.
The star doesn’t know if she would be brave enough to do the same thing in the same way if she found herself in a similar situation.
“He did it all by himself,” she told E! News about his achievements over the last year.
“He made up his own mind and he did it. And it was like what—85, 90 pounds. Wow!…I don’t know if I’d have that courage.”
The relatives do not exercise together at the moment because they prefer different activities.
However Cher thinks her offspring is looking his best in a long time.
“Chaz doesn’t like aerobics and that’s what I like doing,” she explained. “He looks unbelievable.”
Reality star Chaz previously explained on TV show The Doctors his reasoning behind finally putting heath first.
“My family was concerned about my health and now everyone is really happy,” he said. “They can also see how much better I feel and how much happier I am.”
Clearly close with his pop star mother, Cher recently turned down the chance to perform at the opening event for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Russia in February.
She claimed she was opposed to the gig because of the country’s anti-gay stance and was worried about letting down fans and friends both inside and outside of the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender community.
“It was hard,” she added. “I have so many Russian friends. I have lots of Russian fans and I have so many people there that I love…So that was difficult.
“The Russian people that I know are great and don’t agree with [the anti-gay legislation]. They just don’t agree with it.”
