Dean McDermott was reportedly “miserable” shopping at a bargain market.
The 47-year-old actor and his wife Tori Spelling are said to be suffering financial difficulty currently.
The pair share four small children together and it appears the couple are on a massive grocery shopping budget, as Dean was spotted procuring goods from discount store Smart & Final in California on Saturday.
“He looked miserable,” an onlooker told Radar Online of Dean’s expression as he pushed his large cart of food and toilet paper through a crowded parking lot.
According to the outlet, Tori normally shops at luxury grocery chain Whole Foods or at the expensive Malibu farmers market.
But it’s rumored things have gotten so financially dire, they can’t afford to feed six mouths at high-end markets anymore.
The couple’s combined net worth is estimated to range between $1.5 million to $3 million and apparently Dean has had night sweats thinking of money.
“There are nights that Dean doesn’t sleep because he is so concerned about how they are going to pay the bills,” an insider previously detailed.
“Tori is willing to get help, but complains she doesn’t have time because of their four kids.
“Dean has told Tori she needs to get treatment for her spending, which is putting added pressure on the family. She will go through periods when it’s not an issue, but then she slips and buys stuff the family simply doesn’t need.”
Tori came clean about the state of her monetary affairs in her book Spelling It Like It Is, which was released last October.
“I can’t afford to live like this anymore. Our circumstances have changed … our bank account has taken a major hit,” she wrote in the tome.
Dean checked himself into rehab in January for “health and personal issues” following reports he cheated on wife Tori, 40.
