Cara Delevingne thinks Lupita Nyong’o personifies “girl power”.

The 21-year-old British model started her career on the runway but is now moving into the film business with parts in Anna Karenina and The Face of an Angel.

At yesterday’s Oscars Lupita took home the prize for best supporting actress thanks to her portrayal of Patsey in 12 Years a Slave.

Blue Jasmine’s Cate Blanchett took home the best actress award and Cara hopes their success will be an inspiration for other women in the industry.

“Congratulations to Cate Blanchett and Lupita Nyong’o and of course all the other amazing actresses who were nominated at the oscars! These women are so strong and inspirational and are creating more opportunities for strong female parts in Hollywood!! #legends #girlpower (sic),” the star wrote on Instagram.

She attached a photo of other strong actresses who were nominated in the two categories this year.

Cara isn’t the only one who is full of praise for last night’s winners.

Lindsay Lohan congratulated Lupita as well as Dallas Buyers Club actor Jared Leto, who took home the best supporting actor gong for playing AIDS sufferer Rayon.

“So happy for @JaredLeto and @Lupita_Nyongo. Amazing actors rewarded for amazing work #oscars (sic)” Lindsay gushed.

We’re The Millers star Will Poulter, 21, also rushed to Twitter to show his approval of Lupita winning the prize.

“MASSIVE Congratulations to @Lupita_Nyongo !!! So well deserved! #BestSupportingActress #OSCARS (sic),” he posted.

Girls star Lena Dunham also weighed in on the matter.

“Lupita’s category is full of iconic brilliant women which makes her win all the more thrilling. (sic)” she tweeted.

Others nominated for best supporting actress were Julia Roberts, Jennifer Lawrence, June Squibb and Sally Hawkins.

Competing for best actress were Meryl Streep, Dame Judi Dench, Sandra Bullock and Amy Adams.
