Amanda Bynes has reportedly enrolled at a prestigious fashion school in California.
The 27-year-old star is currently recovering at her parents’ home in Los Angeles after leaving rehab earlier this week. She is believed to have received treated for bipolar disorder and schizophrenia after she was placed under an involuntary psychiatric order in July.
Amanda is said to be doing well and has decided to pursue a career in fashion.
TMZ reports the actress has signed up as a student at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, which has an alumni including designers such as Monique Lhuillier and Nicole Miller.
The website says she is “registering under an alias for two classes at the Orange County campus”. During her studies Amanda will reportedly be escorted to and from lessons, which are described as a “light” work load.
She will apparently juggle her learning with therapy sessions four times a week throughout the school year.
People close to Amanda hope school will “help ease her back into society by giving her some sort of structure for her life”.
Her lawyer Tamar Arminak released a statement earlier this week on behalf of the Bynes family to thank people for their support.
“Amanda and her entire family would like to thank everyone who’s contacted them with good thoughts and wishes for Amanda’s recovery,” Tamar said.
“Amanda has completed her inpatient rehabilitation and she’s feeling better every day. Despite the fact Amanda is no longer in a facility, her outpatient treatment is continuing. She’s very happy to re-establish the loving relationship with her family that she once shared.”
