Amanda Bynes is reportedly “doing great” post-rehab.
The actress was placed under an involuntary psychiatric order in July 2013 following a string of worrying incidents. In September she moved to a rehab facility in Malibu, where she received treatment until being released in December 2013.
Since then the star has been taking classes at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, and is by all accounts making wonderful progress.
“Amanda is doing great and excelling in her studies,” her family attorney Tamar Arminak told E! News. “She is a natural when it comes to fashion and is really enjoying the learning process.”
The 27-year-old finished her first term at the school’s Orange County campus last week. Amanda’s parents Rick and Lynn Bynes apparently attended a runway show where students showcase their designs at the end of the quarter.
“Her parents and family are so proud of her,” Tamar added. “She is an amazing girl.”
Students and faculty at the school are also said to be very supportive of Amanda, and have nothing but praise for the way she has comported herself. The actress is said to be enjoying school so much she would prioritize it over any acting work that might come up.
“She’s a great student who always participated and really cared about her classes,” a source told E! News. “She really fit in and loves her school. If she was offered an acting job anytime soon she may not take it because she’s so focused on school.”
