Chris Brown has been released from jail.

The singer was in court on Monday, a day after his arrest for allegedly assaulting a 20-year-old man named Isaac Parker outside a Washington, D.C. hotel.

TMZ reports Chris’ felony assault charge was reduced to a misdemeanor at the hearing due to conflicting eyewitness accounts.

The victim is also said to have sustained only minor injuries, despite police reports indicated he suffered a fractured nose.

The 24-year-old reportedly pleaded not guilty to the charge, was released without bail and ordered to stay 100 yards away from the alleged victim. A drug test the judge originally ordered was also cancelled.

TMZ reports the fight began when Chris was posing for a picture with a couple of fans when two men, one of them Parker, photobombed the star. Chris allegedly told Parker, “I’m not down with that gay s**t, I’m into boxing,” before punching him in the nose.

Other sources tell the website Chris was merely trying to stop the man from entering his tour bus when a fight broke out and that his bodyguard “handled” the situation.

The star’s bodyguard was also charged in the incident but will now only face a misdemeanor.

Chris remains on probation from attacking ex-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009.

The Los Angeles County Probation Department has launched an investigation as to whether the latest alleged incident is a violation of his probation.

Chris could face up to four years in prison if he’s found guilty of violating its terms.
