Ramp and lane closures on the Brent Spence Bridge will create traffic delays through Tuesday afternoon.
The right two lanes of the I-71/I-75 northbound Brent Spence Bridge will be closed to repair a damaged expansion joint.
The entrance ramp from Covington to I-71/I-75 NB will also be closed.
The lane closures will now last until around noon Tuesday, Nancy Wood with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says.
Motorists who use the KY 8 Covington entrance to I-71/I-75 NB may take the I-71/I-75 SB entrance ramp to the Pike Street exit and re-enter I-71/I-75 to avoid traffic delays.
Motorists are asked to seek alternate routes.
According to officials, the repairs are being made to avoid possible damage to vehicles traveling over the bridge. KYTC engineers will pursue a permanent solution after a more thorough inspection and temporary repair is in place.
They said the structural integrity of the bridge is not affected.
