Billy Bob Thornton feels “pretty good” about not being a famous couple.
The actor divorced Angelina Jolie in 2003 and his ex now has six children with partner Brad Pitt.
However Billy is glad he isn’t under the pressure of being in a celebrity relationship as well as working in Hollywood.
“My life is pretty much the way it’s always been, except I’m not in a celebrity relationship,” he told USA Today. “And I feel pretty good about that. I don’t miss it.”
During his three-year marriage, Billy and Angelina shocked the world by donning vials of each other’s blood around their necks.
Now he lives a quiet life in Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley, with makeup artist Connie Angland and a nine-year-old daughter named Bella.
His new movie, dark comedy Jayne Mansfield’s Car, hits cinemas on Friday and is the first flick he has directed in a decade.
It is a tribute to his dad, William Raymond “Billy Ray” Thornton who dreaded personal conversations with his children and was fascinated by car wrecks, including the 1967 accident that killed pinup Jayne Mansfield.
“He loved car wrecks,” Billy said about his father who took him to see the famous disaster scene. “It’s about the most personal thing we did together. I wanted that in the movie.”
In his latest R-rated motion picture the thespian can be seen pleasuring himself while looking at his naked stepsister.
Still the Bad Santa star didn’t feel awkward putting something so controversial in his screen offering.
“I’ve never been that uncomfortable with that kind of thing,” he admitted. “If you’re going to cuss at kids in Bad Santa, there’s no reason to hold back, or people aren’t going to believe you.”
