Halle Berry has reportedly named her new son Maceo Robert Martinez.
Maceo is an ancient name which means Gift of God, reports TMZ. It was said to be popular in the 9th century through to the 14th century.
The 47-year-old actress and partner Olivier Martinez named the baby Robert after Olivier’s father, who is Spanish, added TMZ.
Halle and Olivier were determined to give their son a name that’s “great in both the U.S. and France,” a source previously told People. The name was reportedly picked out months before the birth.
This is the exact opposite of Halle’s daughter five-year-old daughter Nahla, with ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry, who didn’t get a name until she was born.
“For us it was hard to name the most important person in our life until we met her,” Halle said at the time.
It had been reported that Martinez mentioned Christian as a possible name earlier this summer but nothing was confirmed.
She admitted earlier this year that getting pregnant for a second time was completely unexpected.
“I feel fantastic. This has been the biggest surprise of my life, to tell you the truth,” the actress told CNN.
“Thought I was kind of past the point where this could be a reality for me. So it’s been a big surprise and the most wonderful.”
Halle and Olivier’s son was born on October 5 2013 in Los Angeles.
