Kristen Bell is “still on a high” since marrying Dax Shepard.
The couple tied the knot nine days ago after being engaged for three years, and the honeymoon period is not over as far as Kristen is concerned.
While she admits things haven’t really changed, Kristen loves calling Dax her husband.
“I’m still on a high,” the actress told People magazine. “We actually did it. I can officially call him my husband, which is pretty awesome. Other than that, it feels exactly the same.”
Kristen, 33, and Dax, 38 said they wanted to wait until it was legal in California for same-sex couples to get married before they did. As the law was passed in June, Dax and Kristen quietly married on October 17 at the Beverly Hills County Clerk’s Office.
The couple have a daughter, seven-month old Lincoln, and love being parents.
“Life is great,” Kristen gushed. “I couldn’t be happier.”
The honeymoon is being put on hold until both Kristen and Dax have time off from work commitments.
Kristen is currently promoting new Disney movie Frozen, where she voices the lead. Kristen sings in the film, and enlisted the help of her partner to give a great performance.
“I would learn the songs at home and play them on my iPod while cooking dinner,” Kristen said. “I’d sing it and it would get out of my head, but for six weeks he’d sing Love is an Open Door or For the First Time in Forever in a loop.”
Unfortunately, Dax, who’s known for his comedic acting roles, singing voice left much to be desired.
According to the Forgetting Sarah Marshall star, her husband was “terrible.”
“But no one is more passionate. He is all over the map key wise, but he’s really invested in what he sings and that’s what makes it tolerable,” Kristen admitted. “He’s aware of it. When the dogs leave the room, he’s aware!”
