Bacon’s advice to daughter

Kevin Bacon says he is “very, very proud” of his daughter Sosie Bacon for being named Miss Golden Globe.

The actor and wife Kyra Sedgwick are thrilled the 21-year-old will assist Golden Globe hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler at the awards ceremony on January 12.

According to Kevin, he and Kyra are not surprised Sosie was granted the honor.

“I’m very, very proud of my little girl,” Kevin told People magazine. “I’m proud of her 365 days a year, and Kyra and I will be even more proud of her on that night.”

The Footloose star and Kyra celebrated their 25 wedding anniversary in September. As they are both past Golden Globe winners, they understand the pressure of being part of a live show. Kevin’s advice to his daughter is to practice as much as possible.

“Don’t trip!” he joked. “Just practice walking in the heels. But, I know she will do a great job.”

The 55-year-old has previously admitted his children don’t really make a point of watching his movies.

According to Kevin, they enjoy his TV show The Following more than any film he has ever made.

“My children don’t really look at my movies, and this is the first thing that I’ve done that they’ve really seen on a regular basis,” he told Parade magazine. “They’ve seen a couple of movies here and there, but they really don’t watch my stuff—[but] they really watch The Following, and it’s so fun. I’ll get texts from them like, ‘That was a cool episode.’ So it’s great.”
