Arnold Schwarzenegger is reportedly stalling on his divorce so he doesn’t have to propose.
The action hero split from his wife Maria Shriver in 2011 and shortly after it was revealed he had fathered a child over 14 years earlier with the family’s housekeeper.
Maria filed for divorce that July, but the couple are still agreeing the terms of the split.
According to TMZ, the 66-year-old star’s current relationship could be one of the reasons why.
“We’re told he’s getting pretty serious with his girlfriend, physical therapist Heather Milligan. If Arnold gets divorced, the pressure’s on for him to pop the question… and Arnold’s not necessarily a one woman kind of guy,” the site claims.
Arnold and Heather were first seen together early last year. It’s not known how they met, but the pair have regularly been seen enjoying meals around Los Angeles with each other.
The movie star is also said to be considering the financial implications of splitting from Maria once and for all. The couple married in 1986 and have four children together, with their net worth said to be in the region of $400 million.
According to TMZ there is no pre-nup in place, meaning it’s likely their wealth will be split straight down the middle.
In January 2013 Arnold was still speaking of his hopes for making up with his estranged wife.
“We’re not fighting any war. I still hope for reconciliation; I still love Maria,” he told German newspaper Bild.
He later added to Fox News: “It takes a lot of time to heal those wounds and to trust each other again. But, you know, I will make every effort.”
