Jennifer Aniston showed she has a sense of humor about herself on her birthday.
The actress turned 45 on Tuesday, and laughed about the fact that she is not yet married and doesn’t have children.
While interviewing activist Gloria Steinem for The Makers Conference in Ranchos Palos Verdes, Jennifer talked about how women are valued by society.
“The public has a great interest in our personal lives,” she said, according to People magazine. “I know you’ve come up against this, and I certainly have too – where being a woman and our value and our worth is basically associated with our marital status or whether or not we have procreated.”
Steinem then laughed and said “Well, I guess we’re in deep s**t!”
“That’s what I thought,” Jennifer joked. “Just wanted to make sure that was the case. That we are, in fact, in deep s**t.”
Despite joking about the way she is portrayed, the Friends star has made it clear she lives a very fulfilling life.
According to Jen, she has never been so happy as she is now.
“I’m a little bit of a late bloomer! But it doesn’t matter to me because it just gets better,” she told Parade magazine. “They do say youth is wasted on the young, but I feel just as youthful now – if not more – than I did when I was 25. I’m more in my body; I’m more in my mind. Life is full. Life is wonderful.”
A big source of Jennifer’s happiness is her relationship with fiancé Justin Theroux, who was filming his HBO show The Leftovers in New York on Tuesday. The actor clearly makes her feel special and appreciated.
“I feel most beautiful when I’m just at home with [him] in the morning. Or any time of day with him,” she gushed.
