Angie ‘proud to have moved on’

Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie reportedly feels like her dark period was “two or three lifetimes” ago.

The Hollywood actress has openly spoken about her past struggles with drug use and has now moved on to become an advocate of various charities, as well as being praised for her acting and directing skills. She is also set to tie the knot with her handsome fiancé Brad Pitt later this year, who she has been with since 2005 following their movie Mr. & Mrs. Smith.

After a video, taken by her self-proclaimed drug dealer Franklin Meyer, allegedly showing her under the influence of substances surfaced earlier this month drug use, Angelina is said to be feeling frustrated that she can’t escape her history. The 39-year-old beauty is said to be considering legal action over the footage.

“Angie lived a wild life before she met Brad,” a source told British magazine Look. “She’s OK with that and so is he. But that was so long ago, it feels like two or three lifetimes have passed since she was in that self-destructive phase.

“She’s done so much in her life since then that’s of so much more importance. Having her past come back to haunt her is a nightmare – it’s like groundhog day because no matter how much time passes, she can’t seem to shake it.”

The timing of this footage being released is also said to be worrying Angelina in regards to her and Brad’s six children. She reportedly hopes the youngsters won’t get a glimpse of their mom during her dark period.

“Angie isn’t ashamed of her past. She’s been very candid about her drug use and I don’t think she regrets going to such a dark place in her life because it has helped to shape her into who she is today,” a close friend added. “But Angie will hate that her kids are now at the age where they’re online almost daily and, within a few clicks, they can see the video and their friends will be asking them about it.”
