Angelina Jolie is reportedly buying Brad Pitt a £12.2 million heart-shaped island.
The Hollywood beauty fell in love with Petra, situated off the US east coast, when she visited the island recently. She has apparently decided it would be the perfect gift for her fiancé’s 50th birthday as he is passionate about architecture. Angelina was thrilled to discover two houses on the island were designed by Brad’s favorite architect Frank Lloyd Wright.
“As soon as Angelina heard the island was on the market she arranged a viewing. She was really impressed,” a source told British newspaper The Mirror.
“The house is perfect for romantic getaways or as a family retreat. It’s very private. And Angelina knows the fact the island is in the shape of a heart will mean so much to him.”
Brad reaches the landmark age on December 18.
Petra is located 50 miles north of New York City, and included in the 11 acres is a helipad.
The main house on the island boasts stunning views with skylights located around the property. It was built in 2008 from Wright’s plans and is described as one of the architect’s most outstanding designs.
“The fact he could now live in a house designed by one of his idols will make this his best birthday present ever,” a source added.
Brad previously said learning about Frank Lloyd Wright’s work “changed his life” and Angelina once arranged for her fiancé to take a tour of the late architect’s home Fallingwater, in Pennsylvania.
For Brad’s 48th birthday, Angelina splashed out on a waterfall in California so Brad could build a house inspired by Fallingwater over it.
