Alec Baldwin has been arrested.
The Hollywood star was photographed being cuffed by police on Fifth Avenue in New York City.
It’s thought that Alec was riding his bicycle the wrong way down the street when cops stopped him.
“Alec was riding his bicycle the wrong way on Fifth Avenue this morning and, when he was stopped by police, he didn’t have ID so he was handcuffed and arrested. It is not known where he is now or if he is still in police custody,” a source told Page Six.
“The incident just happened, we are waiting for details at this time,” a source with the NYPD confirmed to In Touch magazine.
Eyewitnesses who saw the event unfold gave conflicting reports to the US magazine, with one claiming he was “calm and quiet”, while another onlooker said ” [he] went ballistic on the cops, screaming at them.”
The 30 Rock Star is well known for his fiery temper and has previously had altercations with the press.
In November last year he was caught on film pushing a photographer, knocking his camera to the ground. He was also accused of being homophobic after allegedly calling another photographer a “c**ksucking f*g”.
Earlier this month Alec’s younger brother Stephen was also arrested, after he was caught driving with a suspended license.
Alec, 56, has spoken at length in the past about how tedious being a celebrity is, and even announced in February that he was retiring from public life
“I’m not a homophobic person at all,” he wrote. “But this is how the world now sees me. I haven’t changed, but public life has. … Now I don’t want to be Mr. Show Business anymore.”
