Aaron Paul didn’t have a girlfriend until he was 19.
The 34-year-old actor enjoyed his break-out role in Breaking Bad, where he played drug dealer and user Jesse Pinkman, alongside Bryan Cranston as Walter White.
Despite his rebel onscreen persona, Aaron was actually brought up in a very strict fashion and didn’t even sneak out to meet girls when he was younger.
“It was a beautiful, loving home. I was very protected,” he told the latest edition of British Marie Claire of his childhood.
“They wanted to keep me out of harm’s way, so I didn’t grow up going to parties when I was in high school. I never dated. My main focus was school and theatre. I was just a theatre geek.
“I had a girlfriend in fifth grade but, let’s be honest, we only talked three times and we dated for a year and a half. My first proper girlfriend was when I was 19, after I moved to LA.”
These days, the star is a little luckier with the ladies and is married to the beautiful Lauren Corinne Parsekian.
They originally met at Coachella music festival in 2010, but Lauren had a boyfriend at the time.
A year later they reunited at the same event and this time it was meant to be.
“We ran off and had out first kiss on the Ferris wheel,” he smiled.
“I told her that night how I felt. I said, ‘I think I love you. Don’t be terrified, but I truly believe that one day I’m going to ask you to marry me.'”
They tied the knot in May last year, to music by Foster the People and John Mayer.
Despite being loved up, Aaron still has time for some bromance with Breaking Bad co-star Bryan.
He refers to him as his “biggest mentor” and believes they will be friends “until the end of time”.
