  1. I would like to salute my wonderful son PFC Brandon Fleming- he returned home from his first deployment to Afghanistan in October…he is my pride and joy, and also my HERO! I raised him myself, so of course he is a momma’s boy, but who in the world would have thought that when he actually had a chance to make phone-calls home from Afghanistan, that he would call to check to see how “I” was doing?! He used to LOVE calling me at 3 or 4am and of course my phone was right by my head, and he would say in a smart-ellic voice, Hey Mom, whatcha doing? LOL” He knew i was asleep, but he also knew, that I didnt care what time it was, if he called me, i’d answer! One day he called, then didnt have alot to say…I asked if he was alright, his reply was : yea mom, just keep talking, just tell me what all you’ve been doing, what you are going to do tomorrow b/c i just want to hear a familiar voice till i fall asleep. As much as that broke my heart to hear, I just started rambling on about my day, throwing in a few comments to make him laugh…then after a few minutes, i hear my sleepy son say thanks mom, night, love you!
