You might have heard this Cincinnati couple’s story before….Brooke and Keith Desserich’s 6-year-old daughter, Elena, was diagnosed with cancer. They didn’t want her to know the severity of her illness but doctors said she only had 135 days to live. As the tumor took away her ability to talk, they knew she knew what was happening. She couldn’t talk but she could still write, and write she did! After Elena passed away, her parents discovered that their daughter had left a message behind for them — and they were stuffed everywhere! They started to pull out notes from between CDs or between books on a bookshelf. The notes are usually short and usually have words like “I love you…”. The best part is they are still finding the notes hidden around the house. Both parents hold onto a sealed note they have never opened, they say they always want to know there is one more note to read. How sweet is this?!
At first they didnt’ want to tell their story but decided to tell their daughter’s story in a book, with profits going to a cancer foundation. It’s called The Cure Starts Now.

The book is on sale now
Love it and have to have this book. Just added it to my list for Christmas (and a box of Kleenex)!
